Ross (played by Michael Parr) still remains oblivious that it was Debbie who orchestrated the assault.
Now, Debbie is “terrified” that Simon McManus (Liam Ainsworth) will expose everything.
Charley explained: “She’s totally terrified that Simon will reveal that she was behind the attack.
“She also hates the thought of Ross having to sit there and face his attacker.”
Hinting at further repercussions outside of court, Michael teased: “In a soap, justice isn’t always served in court.”
The 30-year-old actress revealed that Ross would be “absolutely devastated” if he found out the truth about Debbie.
Charley said: “Debbie knows that he’d be completely devastated.
“He loves her, and she loves him.
“They’ll always have a special connection, and she’s terrified about him finding out what she’s done.”
Debbie is also fearful that Moira Barton (Natalie J. Robb) will “tell Ross everything”.
Charley continued: “She’s scared that Moira will tell Ross everything, and also convinced that she will go to the police.
“In a funny way, I think it would almost be a relief for Debbie if the truth came out.”
Charley added to TV Times: “I would tell Debbie to confess everything.
“She should never have got Simon to do her dirty work for her, but I don’t think she knew what else to do.
“This lie is eating her up!”
It comes after Ross actor Michael hinted that his character may be leaving the ITV soap.
The Emmerdale star joined Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby on This Morning yesterday when he made the huge revelation.
Following a discussion about his acid attack storyline on the ITV soap, Michael revealed he now has plans to head to America.
The 31-year-old explained that he has a lot of connections to America, explaining: “My grandad fought in Vietnam and shipped the family over. My mum was born in Oregon and my mum in Mississippi.
“I feel like I’ve had a big American influence in my life, obviously because my mum’s American.
“I feel like it’s always calling me. At some point I will go. It’s calling me [to live there]. I just think it would be so cool to just maybe do a year in New York or something.”
He then added: “And maybe go for it in LA and see if I can get some work out there.”
